A common lung condition known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterized by an aberrant inflammatory response in the lungs and an airflow blockage that is not easily reversible. The current study compares COPD management prescription patterns before and after COVID-19 (PRE-COVID and POST-COVID respectively). This is an ambispective study carried out over six months where 150 patients' data were collected for the research. Of the 150 patients, 75 were PRE-COVID, and 75 were POST-COVID. The maximum number of COPD patients was found from the age group of (60-80) years and the minimum was found from the age group of (31-40) years. Patients with COPD as a comorbidity (history of COPD) were found to be 96, and patients with other comorbidities diagnosed with COPD were 112. Out of 150 patients, 67 patients were hospitalized for 4-7 days. Mono antibiotic therapy showed significance in PRE-COVID and dual steroid therapy showed significance in POST-COVID patients. The research study showed that treatment was according to guidelines, but first-line therapy and monotherapy were used for PRE-COVID, and second-line therapy along with combination therapy was used POST-COVID which helped in reducing the length of hospital stay.
